The Palazzo
Las Vegas culminated its grand opening with music, fireworks and light show and
an incredible concert show featuring Diana Ross as well as a great selection of stars
that performed in the Luminaries and Legends concert. Celebrities, VIP guests
and media from the entire world united for this historic instance as the first
new resort on the Las Vegas
strip formally opened its doors to all visitors. The Grand Opening events
included a “Taste, Luxury & Humor VIP Reception” at Barneys New York. The
event was attended by distinguished guests including Hillary Swank, Mandy
Moore, James Denton, Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O'Connell. A private party for
VIPs guests at the 40/40 Club featured a live presentation from Pat Monahan of
Train.
"This
was a celebration not only of the opening of the most luxurious new resort on
the Strip, but, when combined with The Venetian and the Sands Expo Center, the
culmination of a vision to create the most compelling destination in all of Las
Vegas," expressed Rob Goldstein, president and chief operating officer of
The Palazzo. "The excitement, energy and positive response throughout the
weekend provided a fitting opening for what is the new standard for luxury and
sophistication in Las Vegas."
On Friday,
The Shoppes at The Palazzo first opened to the public. The vestibule takes the
visitors into a mall esplanade under a glass walkway in where the natural light
perfectly illuminates all the way. In addition to Barneys New York, a total of 20
other stores and luxury brands are introduced by the first time in Las Vegas
thanks to The Palazzo, including Chloe,
Tory Burch, Christian Louboutin, Diane Von Furstenberg, Van Cleef & Arpels,
Anya Hindmarch, Poleci, Lambertson Truex, Phillipe Charriol, Edidi, Piaget and
Michael Kors.
Friday
afternoon also featured the appearance of famous chefs launching new
restaurants at the Palazzo, including Mario Batali, Emeril Lagasse, Charlie
Trotter and Wolfgang Puck. The Palazzo also hosts the Las Vegas exclusive version of the 40/40 Club
sports bar and lounge, the pet project of rapper and singer Jay-Z, as well as
the all-day, all-night Grand Lux Cafe. The
opening celebration events closed on Saturday with the expected Luminaries and
Legends concert featuring Wayne Brady as the main host in a unique show that
included Diana Ross, Seal, Andy Garcia and the Cineson All-Stars and the Jersey
Boys.
