The Little Church of the West is a mini replica of an old west mining town church, it stands as a reminder of the early days of Las Vegas when its business district consisted of only the first three blocks of Fremont Street.

This rustic cedar and redwood built landmark has stood the test of time and moved numerous times since its original location as part of the Last Frontier Hotel in 1942. It then moved in 1954 on the same piece of Frontier property. In 1979 it relocated to make way for what is the Fashion Show Mall today and then the chapel was then moved again onto the grounds of the old Hacienda Hotel.  When the Hacienda in 1996 was imploded to make way for the now Mandalay Bay Hotel, the Little Church of the West made the last move across the street to what is its current location.

In 2002, the Little Church of the West celebrated its 60th anniversary and remains the oldest existing structure on the Las Vegas Strip and is in the National Register of Historic Places. The structure  looks much the same today as when it was first built, if only the walls of this chapel could talk with the thousands of weddings vows that have taken place in such a humble setting.

The Little Church of the West is the scene of more celebrity marriages than any other chapel in Las Vegas and is the question most often asked from couples looking to get married in Las Vegas. Kudos to the owners for keeping the memory of a Las Vegas landmark alive in a quaint historical structure called The Little Church of the West. Take a trip down the strip and visit this historical chapel and see why it has been voted the favorite place to get married in Las Vegas for the last 12 years.
