Online Poker InformationPoker on TV is awesome.  It is very entertaining and has captured the eyes of many people throughout the world.  What really sparked the massive poker TV movement was ESPN showing the WSOP on their prime network.  People who are diehard ESPN fans would watch anything on the network.  These people realized that poker was fantastic to watch.  Because of this, the televized poker tournaments began to expand, thus making the game in general expand.  Now I can think of at least 10 different poker shows. But that leaves the question…Which one is the best?

If you are looking for pure entertainment there is nothing better than the World Series Of Poker on ESPN.  The commentaries are fun and there is a large amount of action.  Most of the pros with television oriented charismas are spotlighted every time they play the game.  Broadcasts last about an hour, but the main event is divided into a series of about 10 episodes. Great for people looking to get into a game to watch, besides the World Series of Poker 2008 promise to be better than its previous editions.

If you are already an experienced poker player but are looking to learn a bit about how to play with large blinds, then the World Poker Tour may be for you.  The broadcasts feature six player final tables where the blinds are extremely high.  This also leads to a lot of action but shows how players have to play at this stage of tournament.  Broadcasters are Mike Sexton and Vince Van Patton.  Not as good as the WSOP's Norman Chad and Lon McHaren in my opinion.

If you want to see some of the highest stakes around and also learn to read and play opponents in cash games, then high stakes poker is for you.  Each show is an hour long and airs on the game show network.  All of the biggest names in poker frequent the game and players can buy in for up to a million bucks!  It is not rare to see a pot reach six figures.  What really make this show entertaining are the rivalries each player has from week to week.

If you are really all about tuning up your game of poker by watching people that are better, the best show is Poker After Dark.  They show more hands then any other show which may make the show seem boring to some.  The format is a six person sit n goes with the winner winning 120k.  This also attracts big name players, most of them are sponsored by Full Tilt Poker.  I encourage all players from every skill level to watch this show.

Every one of these poker broadcasts will benefit you as a poker player.  Do not just watch the players play.  Study them.  Pick apart what aspects of their game are beneficial and which are costly.  Mold yourself into the best poker player you can be.
