Like most everyone who probably visits WDIAV I love to gamble. Whether it’s playing craps, roulette, or poker I like the action and the challenge. When I play online poker it is for fun and usually something I do in my spare time. I have not played as much as I would like lately because of other time commitments. When I first started playing online about a year ago I played a lot. I would register in the online poker free rolls and try to build up a bankroll through those. If you have played in the standard freeroll you know that it takes a lot of time. From start to finish it can be almost six hours. Eventually I realized that for me, playing that amount of time for a chance to win a few dollars, it just wasn’t worth it. I have learned over the last year how to balance my time and I think it’s a valuable lesson everyone needs to learn.

If you are in a relationship, it takes a lot of dedication and effort. Do not neglect your significant other to play poker. If you are playing a poker tournament make sure you have a few hours set aside. Do not let poker get in the way of a relationship that you expect to keep. Would you really neglect someone you care about to win two dollars?

For those of you who are students finding the proper balance between school work and poker is critical. Focus on your work and studies first and only play poker after everything is finished. Hopefully you do not find yourself in a situation where you could be suspended from school or expelled because your grades are suffering. Poker is entertainment and you should keep it that way. If you have a job, do not stay up so late that you are missing work or going in late. Your boss won’t care that you won $15 dollars, but your boss will care that poker is affecting your work.

Poker is fun but it also time consuming. Make sure you find a way to balance your life and poker so that poker is not your life. Try not to spend your entire weekend or all your free time playing poker. Your friends and social life will be better off if you can find a good balance.
