Poker fans pay attention! Vienna’s Concord Card Casino rings in on
Wednesday 5th of March, the poker spring. The popular Spring Poker
Festival stands on the program and has to offer some Highlights until the
16th of March.
One of these Highlights is certainly the East vs. West
€ 60.000 Freeroll. With this east west poker duel which is played on the 9th
of March, ten players fight at the final table for € 37.500 as well as other €
22.500 for the winner's team. Last year Tony G (team East) and Dave Devilfish
Ulliott (team west) took over in each case the role of the team captain and
both have announced their participation for this years Spring
Poker Festival as well.
Naturally are also expected a whole row of German and
native poker professionals in the Austrian capital. Besides, Michael Keiner,
Andreas Krause, concentrate Cort Kibler-Melby, Markus Golser, Siggi Stockinger
and Stefan Rapp, first of all, on the four-day-long European Challenge which
begins on the 11th of March.
The Main Event with the Buy-In of € 3.000+150 called
206 poker players at the tables in the CCC last year and the price pool was a
total of € 618.000. German Pro Andreas Krause (€ 95.910 price money) placed
second that time and was only beaten by the Croat Branimir Brunovic (€
191.960). The best Austrian was Dieter Wagenknecht who ended in ninth place (€
13.180).
This year, Tony G and the Devilfish will draw other
big international names such as Alex Kravchenko (Final Table the World Series
Of Poker Main Event in 2007), due the total price pool of over 1.3
million Euros (This includes ten tournaments) the Spring
Poker Festival moulted into one of the biggest European events in 2008. To
ensure a successful poker tournament, Thomas Kremser and Jonathan Lütkenhorst are going to
manage this great Spring Poker Festival as any other poker tournament. So, that we might see a new Main Event winner
besides Sweden’s
Philip Yeh and the Canadian Sorel Mizzi.
