“The Rat
Pack is Back” had a series of different names since its debut in 2003. The
show was originally named “The Tribute to Frank, Sammy, Joey and Dean” but
after a while it was launched again under the name of “The Rat Pack Is Back,” at
the Rio Hotel and Casino. The show counts with cast that rotates depending on
the performers starring the show. The most recent cast features Sandy Hackett as
Joey Bishop, Johnny Edwards as Dean Martin, Brian Duprey as Frank Sinatra and
Kyle Diamond as Sammy Davis Jr.
Dick Feeney is emphatic about
the potential of opening more shows at the Plaza
Hotel and Casino “We’ll think about that after we get everything smoothed
out with these two shows,” Feeney said. To spice up the Plaza’s environment, the
duo has also booked bands to entertain the Aqua Lounge Casino visitors.
“I remember this gorgeous
lounge they had there when I first arrived in town 20-something years ago. It
had a real nice stage, but somewhere along the line it was boarded up and they
made a keno room out of it, but they never took out the stage.” Feeney said.
Feeney expressed that when
they found the stage was still there they immediately upgraded the room to adequate
it for live performances. Feeney also said that soon the place will start
having 4 shows a week.
“Bands are struggling in
lounges in this town. We want to give them a place to play.” Feeney said.
