I have sat
on a few tables where no one talks and its just poker straight ahead. I have to
say that gets very old very fast. I like a little poker banter at the tables.
It make the game go by a little faster and makes the game that much more entertaining
because you can strike up conversation with many people all over the world and
learn about all kinds of stuff you would
otherwise not know anything about. Now you do have a few of those people who
use the poker banter in the wrong way when they start to belittle the other
players on the table for bad play or for suck outs that one might hit. I have
to confess I have been guilty of this but have watched myself and have gotten
it under control.
Once you
get into your head that poker is full of bad beats and players who play badly
and get lucky so you have to go into the session ready for that type of play,
because more times than not you will come out ahead. But for the most part you
get into some great conversations around the table. The online poker rooms are
one of the few places where you have a very diverse group of people from all
over the country as well as the world coming together to play a few hands of
poker every now and then. Although sometimes you get people from other countries
typing in there native language and you don’t know what here saying. But if you
ask them politely to speak in English most of the time they will comply with
your request. The poker tables can be just like a big social network like a MySpace
or Facebook and they are a great way to expand your knowledge beyond poker,
talking to the other players is also a great method to approach and learn about
the other players’ strategies, knowledge and weaknesses.
