The
Delaware Poker Room located in Newark,
Delaware
and owned and operated by Brandon Boglio. The Delaware Poker Room offers a
variety of games, Texas Hold'em (limit) Omaha Poker,
7 card Stud, and even Black Jack. Since the Delaware Poker Room is not a casino
they don’t count with alcoholic beverages service, however, you have to be 18
to play. They also have No Limit competitions nightly usually
$60.00+$10.00(most common referred to as SNGs but for legal purposes
competitions works for me) Larger tournaments are held on Sundays with higher
buy ins. The poker room does take in a service fee, if you will, however the
funds go to charity and maintaining operations. The poker room features several
tables and flat screen televisions and you can purchase sodas on the premises.
At any given time there are tables ready to go, they are player/dealer tables
(each player deals the game in turn) I personally like the poker room and feel
its well run and a nice environment, I think everyone who is looking for a
closer place to have a few hands of poker and you live in the area should
definitely check them out.
Just
recently a home game, more like a home casino was busted in Delaware for running a high stakes game out
of a basement in a $400k housing development. The police kept the place under
surveillance after neighbors were complaining about parking issues with several
cars blocking the neighborhood very late into the night. Not your ordinary home
game, reports claim that they used dealers, sometimes had topless waitresses
and stakes were sometimes hands of $20k to $30k. The report also indicated a
credit card machine was seized at the location. Everyone was arrested during a
raid of the home including a live in bouncer. This game is many steps ahead of
my $20.00 buy in game.
In
finishing Poker is legal in Delaware
if you’re doing right and obeying the laws which govern the games. I like
having a legal poker room with in a short driving distance and if you live in
the area its worth checking out. If you are not try the local VFW or Moose
lodge because sometimes there’s a good poker game where you would least expect
it.
