The Academy
of Country Music (ACM) has announced that Randy Owen and Sugarland will perform
at Fremont Street Experience in Las
Vegas on May 16th and 17th
respectively. The shows are part of the week's festivities previous to the 43rd
Annual Academy of Country Music Awards, which will be taking place at the MGM
Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas
Sunday, May 18th at 8:00 p.m. Fremont Street Experience is an entertainment
area that encompasses 10 hotel-casinos, 60 restaurants and free entertainment in
downtown Las Vegas.
Fremont Street Experience features the world's largest video screen at 1,500
feet long 90 feet above the pedestrian mall, unmatched sound system and an
incredible light show. The Academy
of Country Music Awards is
a ceremony dedicated to honor the most important names in the country music
industry. The show is produced for television by Dick Clark Productions and
will be broadcast from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas Sunday, May 18, 2008 at 8:00 p.m
Randy Owen show
will be on Fremont Street
on Friday, May 16th at 10:30 p.m. The former lead singer for the
famous band Alabama
will perform songs from his debut solo album “One on One” including his latest
hit "Braid My Hair". Sugarland will hit the stage on Saturday, May 17th
at 10:30 p.m., right after the Academy
of Country Music 5th
Annual Charity Motorcycle Ride and Jam. The former ACM "New Duo/Group of
the Year" winners are also nominated for four Academy of Country Music
Awards this year for their album Enjoy the Ride.
The duo conformed by Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush are nominated for "Top Vocal Duo", "Video of the
Year", "Single Record of the Year" and "Song of the
Year". Sugarland is also working on their third album, which is expected to be
released next September.
