"Going
On Tilt" usually refers to the behavior exhibited by a poker player at the table who allows his emotions
get involved in the game and stops using his/her head and common sense while
playing. An example of situations in where is easy to go on tilt is when you
have been involved in a hand where you have invested a lot of money /poker chips
and cant get away from the hand OR you when you get sucked out on in a previous
hand and you let your emotions take over and play a horrible hand really
aggressive and in the process lose a lot more money because you start taking
the game personally and losing your head.
You have to remember that going on tilt is a natural thing and that every player goes through this situation at list once in a lifetime. As a poker player, you just have to learn to control yourself and restrain your emotions, even when sometimes is hard and all you want to do is to punch your opponent right in the jaw. After all, poker is a game that demands patience and lots of self control, playing effectively takes time and becoming a semi decent player is not something that happens in a blink of an eye. Just try to keep in mind that nothing good can come up from getting mad or obsessive at the poker table!
