Several Toni Braxton shows have been canceled after the 40 year old singer was taken to the hospital for apparent chest pains. The cause of the chest pain hasn’t been released to the media. Deanna Pettit, spokeswoman of the Flamingo Las Vegas hotel and casino said Braxton, a six-time Grammy winner for songs such as "Un-break My Heart" and "Breathe Again," has been previously treated for pericarditis, a viral inflammation of the sack that surrounds the heart.

"We're going to go ahead and cancel her shows tonight and for the rest of the week. We expect she'll return to the stage next Tuesday." said Pettit.

Braxton is recovering at home after spending Monday night at a Las Vegas hospital, following her Hospital release last Tuesday afternoon after a series of preventive tests. Pettit says the Flamingo Showroom is offering refunds for the canceled shows, Pettit also expressed that the Flamingo’s management hasn’t taken any immediate determination about the upcoming shows. Braxton is in the midst of a two-year run at the Flamingo Hotel and Casino, and so far “Toni Braxton: Revealed” has positioned itself as the Flamingo’s main musical show.

"We wish Toni a quick recovery and would like her to take the time she needs to regain optimal health," "We are looking forward to her return at the end of the week." said the Flamingo president Don Marrandino.
