The filming production of NBC's Poker After Dark new season will finish next Friday, April 18th in Las Vegas. A total of Ten new episodes will be broadcasted by NBC starting next July 14th. The show’s executive producers have also announced a series of changes in the show's structure. Possibly the most notorious change to PAD4 will be the implementation of two new formats. The past seasons have featured a 6-player winner-take-all freezeouts, but they won’t be included in this season. The show is also introducing heads-up plays and cash games, allowing the viewers to watch all three different variations of the game on one program. There is also going to be a double elimination heads-up battle between the four NBC's National Heads-Up Poker Championship champions; Phil Hellmuth, Ted Forrest, Paul Wasicka, and Chris Ferguson. Each player will put up $50,000 and fight for the $200,000 winner-take-all prize.

Mike Matusow was granted with two chances to win his first victory after having eight PAD participations and nothing but bad luck. Matusow will play one match vs. PAD winners David Williams, Phil Hellmuth, Gavin Smith, Clonie Gowen, and Phil Laak, and another chance against WSOP main event finalists David Williams, Andy Black, Lee Watkinson, Dewey Tomko, and Allen Cunningham. There will be a Dream Match in where the online qualifier Paul Featherstone will face some of the toughest players in the world including Team FullTilt.com players Gavin Smith, Mike Matusow and Jennifer Harman, as well as world famous poker commentator Mike Sexton and team UltimateBet and World Series of Poker champ Phil Hellmuth.

A chapter called "Brilliant Minds" will feature the math geniuses of poker Bill Chen, Chris Ferguson, Andy Bloch, Brandon Adams, Jimmy Warren, and David Sklansky. The "Nets vs. Vets" match features three highly successful online poker players in Tom "drrrr" Dwan, Brian "sbrugby" Townsend, and Andrew "good2cu" Robl against veteran pros and former World Champions Doyle Brunson, Johnny Chan, and Huck Seed. NBC also introduced Leeann Tweeden as the new host for upcoming season. Leeann counts with an extensive experience in the world of poker tournaments, she has worked as sideline reporter on FSN's MansionPoker.com Poker Dome series, and as the host of the 2008 National Heads-Up Poker Championship.
