So recently I had the pleasure of interviewing Lou Krieger,
who not only is a well respected character among the worldwide poker community,
but is also the author of many popular poker books and articles. He has been
known to help many people improve the poker game, including myself. Here are a
few questions I asked him during a private conversation:
FTN says: So first off, how long have you been playing poker, and
what compelled you to start playing?
Lou Krieger says: My
father had a home game once a week in our house. I was 7 or 8, and
badgered my mother until she let me stay up to watch. Lou Krieger says: Then I
liked the game, and played through HS and college ... dropped the game and picked
it up again a few years later.
FTN says: Do you mind if I ask why you dropped it?
Lou Krieger says: well, when I was younger I was more
interested in felling like I was a grown up and not a little kid. So the
players humored me, but they showed me about the game.
FTN says: and another one lol, what do you feel is your strongest
game (cash, sng , tournaments) and what type? Hold’em, Omaha etc
Lou Krieger says: I love Hold’em ... both limit and
no-limit, and I also like
FTN says: and so do you play mostly in an online poker site?
Lou Krieger says: no ... I play live at Agua Caliente
in Rancho Mirage, as well as online.
So overall it was a pleasure to interview him, he is a great poker player and
if you get a chance you should definitely read any of his great books on poker strategy and how to improve your game.
