For anyone who does not use poker aid software or know what it does, based on what I have seen so far it can be very useful. The other evening I bought Poker Tracker 3 (PT3). The company that makes Poker Tracker makes different versions of its software for the various types of poker software which must be purchased separately. I bought Poker Tracker 3 for Hold’em.

Since Poker Ace HUD (PAHUD), another poker aid program, does not yet work with PT3, for a limited time by purchasing PT3 you get PT2 and PAHUD for free. Poker Tracker 3 acts as a real-time database and currently works for the most popular online poker rooms. It tracks your play, cards, the amount you win and lose, and perhaps more importantly it keeps tabs on your opponents. When you have PT3 loaded and running you can see how much money you have won and lost with each particular type of hand and from what position. You can use this data to adjust your hand range and position play. While it does this for you, it does the same for your opponents. When you use PAHUD it provides overlaid graphics onto each table you have up. You will be able to see how aggressive or passive each opponent is and how often they use continuation bets.

In PT3 there is also an option to make your own graphs so you can visually see how much money you have won or lost over a period of time that you define. This graph has the potential to be very positive or terribly depressing for a losing player. A new feature that has been added is something called Table Tracker. However Table Tracker is not yet an active feature but will go live soon. Table Tracker can be used for game selection to find fish and it will be a subscription based service.

So far I have logged roughly 100 hands playing at the .25 / .50 level. It has accurately tracked my hands and so far PAHUD has brought up statistics on my opponents. I am still a little unsure as to how best utilize the data but hopefully with more use and familiarity I will use PT2 and PAHUD appropriately. It is nice to have a program that logs everything and I am looking forward to using this program more in the future. Poker Tracker 3 can be purchased for $89.99 and for now comes with Poker Tracker 2 and Poker Ace HUD. The purchase price may be cost prohibitive for micro stakes players as $89.99 probably represents a significant portion of a bankroll. By purchasing this online poker software you get two licenses for personal use in case you have two computers.
