Only a few days ago, the World Series of Poker organization announced that
a new “green” tournament poker table created by the New Jersey-based manufacturer, EGM
Green, will be presented during the 2008 edition of the WSOP. The “Green” table is made using sustainable materials, including wood certified
by the Forestry Stewardship Council, formaldehyde free paints and stains and water
based adhesives. EGM Green is convinced that the use of sustainable designs in
the creation of poker tables and casino products can considerably decrease the amounts of
industrial waste produced by manufacturers, reduce the dependency of natural resources and diminish the
environmental impact.
“We are pleased that Harrah’s has chosen to debut the table at the WSOP. Casinos
are taking up the mantle of sustainability and leading the charge is Harrah’s
Entertainment, Inc. EGM Green is positioned to help drive sustainable change by
offering green products developed for casinos.” said EGM Green President Eric
Hansel.
