Las Vegas discount couponsThe original members of the legendary R&B funk group the TIME will perform a series of shows at the Flamingo Las Vegas throughout the summer beginning June 24th and ending on August 2nd. There have been more than two decades since Morris Day, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Jesse Johnson Jerome Benton, Jelly Bean Johnson and Monte Moir performed their last live show.

The Time performed a short act at the 50th Grammy awards in February, playing "Jungle Love" and progressively switching over mid-song to a slightly down-tempo version of "Umbrella" by Rihanna, just to continue with "Don't Stop the Music." Also, in April Morris Day performed with Prince at the ninth annual Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in Indio, California.

The Time started as musical project financed and produced by Prince, also, the Time’s front man. Morris Day made a special appearance in Prince’s movie “Purple Rain”. The Time never reached the top chart and in 1985 the band decided to take a break, however, the Time came back in 1990 with the impressive and shamelessly funky “Pandemonium.

The band is currently rehearsing and preparing the material in Los Angeles after several years arranging a reunion, and it was the friendship and camaraderie they experienced during Grammy’s performance rehearsals what convinced the band to return to the stage.

"We don't know what the show will be yet.  It's just like the beginning of sex.  You know what the goal is, but you don't know what the path is to get there." said Morris Day. “The timing needed to be perfect;” he continued “With new artists sampling old-school music, my phone started ringing off the hook.  I knew it was the right time.”

Morris Day and the Time concerts are scheduled at 7:30 pm in the Flamingo Showroom from June 24-28, July 1-5 and July 29-August 2, 2008. Tickets for the Time at the Flamingo Las Vegas are available online. For more info on how to acquire The Time tickets, please click here.
