Las Vegas Discount CouponsMicrosoft's touch-screen “Surface” computers have been introduced in a Las Vegas casino by Harrah's Entertainment Inc on Wednesday, giving visitors the chance to order drinks, watch internet videos, play touch-screen games and even flirt with other users. A total of six tables with built-in 30-inch flat screens using Microsoft Surface technology are currently functioning at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Harrah's customized the software used in all its machines and included cameras that can be used to interact with other users, get drinks, etc.

Harrah's officials said they signed a licensing deal with YouTube that lets users to access YouTube videos, either by entering a search or simply by choosing them from a predetermined list of videos. The table will also feature a software conveniently called “Flirt”, which allows users sitting to see and chat with each other, take and e-mail pictures, etc. Other software will let users to play video games or access information regarding Las Vegas events, nightclubs and Harrah's attractions.

"Of all the goodies up our sleeves lately, this is one of the most dramatic. The range of opportunities is fairly limitless." said Tim Stanley, chief information officer of Harrah's.

Microsoft “Surface” computers were first acquired by AT&T Inc. for its wireless stores. The tables are programmed to identify eight different wireless phones and provide information about features. Harrah’s expressed the possibility to introduce some Surface computers in its Total Rewards program and offer new ways gamble never seen before in Las Vegas.

"This is very open. There's no scripting," Thompson said. "People feel a sense of freedom." said Pete Thompson, Microsoft's general manager of surface computing.
