Poker After Dark's season 4
premieres late night on July 14th, with the airing of a cash game instead
of the usual tournament-style freezeout. This game features blinds of $200/$400
and a buy-in of $100,000. The high-stakes action will count with Tom
"durrrr" Dwan on Seat 1, UltimateBet
sponsored champ Phil Hellmuth on Seat 2, high-stakes player Mike Baxter on Seat
3, 5-time bracelet winner Allen Cunningham on Seat 4, Cirque de Soleil CEO Guy
Laliberte on Seat 5, and cash game poker professional David "Viffer"
Peat on Seat 6.
The first episode will be a
great challenge for all players; however, it will be a second chance for Phil
Hellmuth to take revenge over Tom Dwan. Dwan eliminated Hellmuth in the
shortest match in the history of the National Heads-Up Poker Championship. Dwan busted Hellmuth
during the 2008 NHUPC after only 3 hands in the opening match. The rest of the
players at the table are also well known names in the world of poker, the
Cirque du Soleil co-founder and CEO, Guy Laliberte is a passionate high-stakes poker
player, same as David Peat, who’s a professional high-stakes cash game player
in Las Vegas.
The first episode of PAD will
start with $200/$400 blinds and prop bets are allowed. The minimum buy in is $100,000
and the maximum is $250,000, and rebuys had to be at least $50,000. The first
episode will feature the debut of the program's new host Leeann Tweeden. This gorgeous
model and television personality will certainly give viewers more than one reason
stay tuned, as she is clever, friendly, and charismatic.
The game will begin at 2:05 a.m on July 14th, and will continue for five consecutive nights. A special program called the "Director's cut" will be broadcasted late night Saturday, July 19th, at 1:00 a.m. This show will feature Leeann with a behind-the-scenes look at the week with highlights of key hands and player interviews. This is the first of two weeks of cash games programmed for this season, with the second scheduled on October 13th. That game will feature Patrik Antonius, Dee Tiller, Howard Lederer, Doyle Brunson, Gabe Kaplan, and Eli Elezra.
