The 2008 World Series of Poker Main Event
resumed on Day 1B with the notable eliminations of Ted Forrest, Andy Black, Daniel Negreanu, Tuan
Le, Kenny Tran, Scott Fischman, Greg Raymer, David Bach, Humberto Brenes, Jamie
Gold, Orel Hersheiser, Ross Boatman and Sam Grizzle. Andy Black was busted
after he moved all in with a pair of Jacks and his hand was mucked by two pairs
(7’s and 5’s). Negreanu also faced a premature elimination when his pair of 6’s
walked was mucked by a pair of 9’s, leaving the spectators on the rail
disconcerted and disappointed (Negreanu was listed by PartyBets amongst the top
10 favorites to win the event).
The 2002
Main event Champ, Greg Raymer was also in the list of eliminations, Raymer moved
all in with Q-8 after the flop came 8-5-5 on the flop. Raymer was called by Kai-Are
Hauge with pair of Jacks, the turn was 2 and the river came 7 and Hague sent
Raymer to the rail, moving up to 37,000.
