The Asian Poker Tour (APT) is proud to announce that several well known faces and professional poker players have already confirmed their presence at the Macau Event at the Galaxy StarWorld Hotel and Casino starting on August 27th. The list of confirmed players include the Godfather of Poker, Doyle Brunson,  his son, Todd Brunson, J.C. Tran, Nam Le, Quinn Do, David Saab and Steve Sung among others

“Dolly” Brunson, a legendary name in poker and one of the most respected players in the world, will be joined by his son, Todd Brunson, who has also secured a spot at the event. Like his father, Todd Brunson is also a successful poker player, nicknamed "Darkhorse", Todd has won one World Series of Poker bracelet of his own, achieving more than $3,200,000 in about 20 years of career.

Along with the main event at APT Macau, Doyle will also autograph books, giving fans and players the chance to meet him and get their copies personally signed at APT Macau. Brunson’s outstanding record  include more than $5 million in tournament winnings as well as a total of 10 ten World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelets, which puts Brunson in second place in the all-time winners and only one bracelet behind Phil Hellmuth.

Another player who will be present at the APT Macau is J.C. Tran; the Vietnamese-American is currently the top-ranked player on the Bluff Magazine/ESPN power rankings and has total winnings of more than $6.7 million to date. His latest victory was at the 2008 WSOP Event #49 where he won the first place and $631,170

At only 25, Vietnamese-American Nam Le is already considered one of the favorite candidates to win the 2008 APT Macau. Le’s total winnings to date exceed $4.3 million, achieving a couple of first place finishes, including the 2006 Bay 101 Shooting Star WPT Championship and the 2006 Scotty Nguyen Poker Challenge II, as well top place finishes in several WSOP and World Poker Tour events. His latest finish happened at 4th at the 2008 LA Poker Classic WPT Championship, where he earned over $400.000.

Quinn Do is another familiar face at the APT events, finishing 20th overall and winning $7,500 in prize money at the 2007 APT in Philippines. Quinn decided to play poker full time in 2004 and since, Do has been a regular at major live poker events, winning the WSOP Gold Bracelet at the 2005 WSOP Limit Hold’em Event. Other notable finishes includes a 2nd place finish at the Bellagio Challenge Cup Championship in 2005 and most recently, a 2nd place finish at the 2008 LA Poker Classic WPT Championship where he went home with $909,400.00. Quinn Do’s total poker winnings are close to $2 million.

The 2008 APT Macauwill be held at the Galaxy StarWorld Hotel and Casino from August 27th to the 31st. The APT Macau features a prize pool of $1,500,000 in cash. The winner of APT Macau is guaranteed at least $500,000, which is more than enough to attract some of the best poker players from all over the world. The buy-in for the Macau leg of this year's APT is set at $5000+$300. Players can also win seats to the event by qualifying through various online satellites being held all over the world on several online poker rooms including Titan Poker, PartyPoker, and PKR.com. After the Macau leg, the Tour will jump to South Korea and Singapore, in where players can expect even more poker action.
