The fifth season of the successful European Poker Tour has announced a total of nine stops before the EPT Grand Finale in Monte Carlo. The EPT will kick off on September 10th and will run until September 14th at Casino de Barcelona, Spain, then the tour will move to Victoria Casino for EPT London, from October 1st to October 5th. The remaining events featured in the 5th season’s schedule will take place in Poland, Denmark, Germany, France, Italy and the Czech Republic. The Grand Final will take place from April 28th to May 4th, 2009 in Monte Carlo. The EPT organizers also said that both, the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure and the Dublin Open will not be officially included on this year’s schedule.

"The new EPT season includes all the events which have made the past four seasons such a triumph with record fields across Europe and record prize pools. We have set very high standards and aim to improve on this still further in Season 5. The tour will take in nine countries including the return of the ever popular Deauville event in France and we are expecting to add new venues to the tour. We anticipate the EPT making an even bigger impact in Season 5, attracting more players from all around the world and even larger prize pools” said John Duthie, EPT founder.

PokerStars.com, one of the main EPT Barcelona Open sponsors, has launched a series of online satellites to qualify for a seat at the Barcelona event from only $5. Each prize package will include the event’s buy in, hotel accommodation and cash for personal expenses.
