Poker has announced the third edition of its popular high stakes super
series beginning on Tuesday September 30th. Last year’s PartyPoker.com
Poker Den caught the attention of many professional players, including Phil
Hellmuth, Todd Brunson, Tony G, Chris Ferguson, Kamie Gold, Dave “Devilfish”
Ulliot, Roland de Wolfe, Hoyt Corkins and Mike “The Mouth” Matusow.
Several pros have already
confirmed their presence at the Big Game III, includingTony G, Devilfish, Jamie
Gold, Robert Williamson III, Roland de Wolfe, Neil Channing, Andrew Feldman,
Brian Townsend and Kirk Morrison are already confirmed to appear while others
expected to appear include Phil Laak, Antonio Esfandiari, Jon Kalmar, Sammy
“Any Two” George, Roberto Romanello, John Tabatabai, Mike “The Mouth” Matusow,
Jennifer Tilly, Anthony Hardy and Phil Hellmuth.
Among the
changes planned for this year, maybe the most important is the additional 12
hours added to the former 24-hour event. PartyPoker
will also run a promotion at the same time as the Big Game III in where all
players playing in real money games on PartyPoker.com will have the chance to
win an hourly $1,000 bonus just for playing at the online poker site.
"There is a little doubt that the Poker Den has a cult following. Clips
from the first two games are all over the internet. Viewers love the fine line
between poker genius and complete madness it seems to bring out in the world's
top pros! The Den is a small intimate venue so we just hope it is big enough to
accommodate their egos!" a PartyPoker.com spokesman said
The event will begin as a $10,000 minimum buy-in, $25/$50 NL Hold’em game, but
with so many high pros set to play, the blinds will probably jump in the first
few hours. The game will first be broadcast on Channel 5 in the
