In an article posted a few days ago on an important NY newspaper, a Las Vegas insider has told the journalist that rapper and club mogul “Jay-Z” is currently considering to sell 50%, if not more, of his 40/40 Club located at the Palazzo Resort to the Las Vegas Sands Corporation. Owners and operators of the Venetian Resort and Casino and the Palazzo, the Sands Corp. also declared that it is ready to “make the 40/40 club in Las Vegas the largest sports booking operation,” the insider said.

The Las Vegas 40/40 sports bar and lounge first opened last December to celebrate the 23rd birthday of the NBA super star, Lebron James. Since its opening, 40/40 has become one of most popular Las Vegas nightclubs. With its expected transformation into a casino-like atmosphere, it will give visitors the opportunity to “gamble both at the tables and on games.”

According to the NY newspaper, the deal will also give Sands Corp. the necessary rights nad requirements to launch a 40/40 club in London, with the possibility to open more venues across Europe in the near future. Currently, Jay-Z owns three 40/40 clubs located in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, New York, and plans to expand the brand in Asia with possible openings in Tokyo and Macau.
