DJ superstar Paul Oakenfold has revealed he has signed a year-long residency in Las Vegas which starts in less than two weeks. "Paul Oakenfold Presents: Perfecto Las Vegas" was created specifically for Rain Nightclub, the legendary 25,000 square-foot nightclub and concert venue at the Palms Resort and Casino. Oakenfold counts with over 20 years of career and has gained international reputation as one of the most talented DJ’s on the planet thanks to his great shows, special effects and headliner acts. Oakenfold will be performing 26 dates throughout the year in Las Vegas starting on August 30th, Rain Nightclub, Palm Resort and Casino

Other DJ’s and projects including Carl Cox, The Crystal Method and Paul van Dyk will also take part in several events programmed to run during Oakenfold’s one year contract. Oakenfold, who is currently 44 years old, is the first DJ who gets a Las Vegas residency.

Oakenfold has toured with U2 and supported live gigs by INXS, the Orb, Simply Red, Boy George, and Primal Scream. He also inaugurated the London super club Ministry of Sound early in the 1990s and became a resident at Liverpool's Cream. Oakenfold left Cream in 1999, after which Virgin commemorated the occasion with the release of Resident: Two Years of Oakenfold at Cream. Since then, he has performed several World Tours, worked on several movie scores and published at list a dozen albums of his own.

"I want to make it a big show like all the big singers have done. It's not just a DJ set. I've brought in massive names in production terms - Mark Brickman who produced the Roger Waters Pink Floyd show and the visuals people who do Gwen Stefani and Coldplay's tours. The night is called Planet Perfecto and the DJ booth is the control tower, the Starship Enterprise, and musically we go to different worlds. I've written original tunes for it. I'm excited. I live in LA so it's a quick flight for me every Saturday night." said Oakenfold.
