Several reliable sources have confirmed that the fight between Oscar De la Hoya and the Filipino prodigy Manny Pacquiao is now a reality and that it will take place next December 6th, possibly at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

Both fighters have been on conversation about money in the past few weeks, which took some boxing experts and event organizers to believe that the two boxers and their respective managers were never agree on the amount paid. However, De La Hoya (39-5, 30 KOs) has finally agreed with Pacquiao (47-3-2, 35 KOs) on how to split the revenue, which is expected to exceed the $100 million sum.

Now Manny Pacquiao will move up two weight classes to 147 pounds to fight Oscar De La Hoya in an HBO Pay Per View fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas for what apparently is going to be the biggest payday in his professional career. De La Hoya, who is currently ranked at 159 pounds will have to start his training this week in preparation for what many people consider the best and most awaited fight of the year, and possibly the last in De La Hoya’s career.

                                                                                                                   

So far, not a single online sportsbook besides BodogLife Sportsbook (And a place called EdBet.com which I’m not familiar with and that I can’t recommend) has released any odds for this fight. Bodog Sportsbook listed Oscar De La Hoya as the big favorite at -325, while Pacquiao is clearly listed as a big time underdog at + 250. The online sportsbetting site also released odds on the total rounds with 9½ total (O -105/U -135).

 

On the other hand, the Las Vegas oddmakers seem to believe that Oscar De la Hoya is a big favorite to win this fight, listing the Golden Boy at no less than -365. In contrast, not many sportsbetting experts think Manny Pacquiao can handle De La Hoya’s experience and professional record, listing the Filipino at modest +285.
