Nevada Gaming Board approves Aliante Station application

The Aliante Station received
the preliminary approval for a license from the Nevada Gaming Control Board. Scott
Nielson, senior vice president of Station Casinos, said the
Aliante Station is a shared
project between Station Casinos and the Greenspun family, which among other
things, owns the
Richard Haskins, senior
vice president with Station Casinos, the Alliante Station received about 1,000
applications a week since July. A total of 400 of the 1,000 employees needed to
operate the hotel and casino have been hired and 20% of the work force will be transferred
from other properties owned by Station. However, Haskins said the plan is to create
its own workforce instead of simply relocate employees from other Station
properties.
The Nevada Gaming Control
Board also approved the restructuring of several companies involving trusts for
members of the Greenspun family, these companies are shareholders in the
various gaming properties. Kate Lowenhar, attorney for the Greenspuns, called
it a "complete restructuring" of the family companies. The state Gaming
Commission will meet October 23rd in
