The Poker Hall of Fame has announced that two new names will be added its 2008 Class in a ceremony scheduled on November 9th at the Penn and Teller Theater at the Rio All Suites Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas during the 2008 World Series of Poker Main Event championship. The two players honored by the Poker Hall of Fame are Duane "Dewey" Tomko and Henry Orenstein. Tomko is a three-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner, a two-time Main Event runner-up, and the holder of the longest consecutive Main Event participation record with 35 appearances. Henry Orenstein won the 1996 World Series of Poker Seven-Card Stud Championship and also cashed twice in the Main Event, including a final table finish at the 1995 World Series of Poker Main Event. Orenstein is also the inventor of the "Hole Card Cam" or "Hole Cam", which launched poker as a TV attraction by introducing the game to millions of viewers all over the world.

The Poker Hall of Fame was created in 1979 and subsequently acquired by Harrah's Entertainment along with the World Series of Poker band in 2004. The Hall of Fame includes the most leading and significant players and other important contributors to the game. Players need to match a series of standards and criteria to be incorporated in the Poker Hall of Fame, including having played poker against acknowledged top competition, having played for high stakes, played consistently well, gaining the respect of peers, stood the test of time and for non-players, contributed to the overall growth and success of the game of poker, with indelible positive and lasting results.

The enshrinement ceremony and 2008 WSOP final table play are open to the public. Seating is available on a first come, first serve basis. With Orenstein and Tomko, there are 16 living members in the Poker Hall of Fame. The entire list of 37 Poker Hall of Fame members is the following:
