After three
days of intense poker action, the PartyPoker.com Premier League III is ongoing with
JC Tran leading the board with two victories and 26 points. During day one Tran
scored his first victory when he defeated the 2008 WSOP Main Event champ, Peter
Eastgate in the Heat 1 heads-up. In Heat 2 Tony G defeated Tom Dwan in the heads
up, collecting maximum points to continue the form he displayed during the
heats of season two.
On day two,
Juha Helppi took down Heat 3 with a victory over Annette Obrestad, while JC Tran
secured his second victory in Heat 4 when he defeated Vicky Coren in the heads
up.
Day three marked
the comeback of the two World Series of Poker Main Event Champs, Phil Hellmuth and Peter
Eastgate as they both achieved their first victory in their respective
heats. Eastgate outlasted the field in heat 5, taking a 9:1 chip lead over
Tran in a heads up rematch. On Heat 6, Phil Hellmuth, Tony G, Dave
“Devilfish” Ulliott, Roland de Wolfe, Dwan and Andy Black clashed in the most
exciting table seen during the Party Poker Premier League III. Dave “Devilfish”
Ulliott continued with his bad luck when he got eliminated by Tom Dwan’s full
house only a few hands after the Heat started. Dwan also eliminated Tony G
and Andy Black, before getting busted by Hellmuth in third position. Hellmuth
entered the heads up vs. Roland De Wolfe, and after a while, the chips went all
in with Hellmuth’s K-10 vs. De Wolfe’s A-Q, however a K came on the river, giving
the 11 time WSOP bracelet winner the ten points and his first victory
