Sources
have confirmed that Robbie Knievel, son of the legendary showman and daredevil
Evel Knievel, is preparing a 200 ft jump over the lagoon and volcano located on
the Mirage Hotel and Casino as part of the celebrations prepared for New Year's
Eve.
The amazing stunt act will be part of a Fox television special
and will be aired exactly 41 years after Evel Knievel unsuccessfully tried
to jump over the Caesars Palace water fountain
"I'm looking for a volcano" said Knievel, who at the time had a world record for jumping the Grand Canyon on his Honda 500.
Now the 46 years old professional stuntman will fly over a sequence of fireballs and flames this time, drawing the audience’s attention to the Mirage Hotel and its recently renovated volcano, which will be unveiled to the public on Monday, December 8th. Fox Network will broadcast the Knivel’s jump live from the Strip from 8:00 to 9:00 p.m Pacific Time. Robbie will make the dangerous jump toward the end of the show with just 10 minutes before the midnight countdown celebrations on the East Coast.
