The Hard Rock
Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas
is making its final arrangements to close its famous concert venue, The Joint,
on February 7th, 2009 and start the renovation works that will transform the Joint into a bigger and even more fashionable concert venue. But before the Joint begin its metamorphosis, the celebrated concert hall will offer a final performance
featuring the legendary hard rock band Motley Crue on February 6th
and 7th.
"The
Joint has played host to some of the world's greatest rock bands over the years
and Motley Crue is honored to be closing 'The Joint' down. We hope to bring the
house down in true Crue-style." said Tommy Lee, Motley Crue drummer.
The Joint made
its debut in February of 1995 and was the first rock venue in Las Vegas located at a high-end property. The
venue is scheduled to open its doors again on April 2009, after the renovation,
the new Joint will be twice the size, and will feature a state of the art sound
and lighting system, seven premiere VIP suites, making the new Joint even most refined,
comfortable for artists and fans alike.
"As we
prepare to close the doors to Las
Vegas' first historic rock venue, we look forward to
writing a new chapter in rock 'n' roll history with the opening of the new
Joint. From The Rolling Stones to Foo Fighters, The Joint has played host to
the world's greatest artists and bands and will be forever remembered as a
venue that revolutionized the Las
Vegas music scene." said Randy Kwasniewski,
President and COO of Morgans Hotel Group Las Vegas and Hard Rock Hotel and
Casino.
The
weekend-long closing celebration at The Joint is programmed to start on Friday,
February 6th with a much anticipated performance by Motley Crue. The
band recently returned to the rock scenario with Saints of Los Angeles, the
band’s first studio album featuring the original lineup - Nikki Sixx, Mick Mars,
Tommy Lee and Vince Neil - in over a decade and the ninth studio album in more
than 25 years of career.
