Starting on January 5th, 2009, the Las Vegas Casino operator MGM Mirage Inc will start taking job applications to fill more than 12,000 positions available for its colossal CityCenter project on the Las Vegas Strip, marking the joint venture between MGM and Dubai World, the largest single new employment opportunity in Las Vegas' history. The $9.2 billion mega complex, which is scheduled to open late next year, includes six high rises with a casino, luxury hotels, private units and retail space.

"To see this unprecedented undertaking to fruition, we need smart, passionate individuals who bring a diversity of perspectives and abilities to our company. We encourage every person in pursuit of a truly rewarding career to apply." said Bobby Baldwin, CityCenter's president and CEO.

Bill McBeath, president of Aria, the main and biggest hotel and casino on the CityCenter, says the company intends to fill approximately 50% of the positions with employees from other MGM Mirage properties or former employees that have recently been laid of, including some of the 3,200 employees the company separated since October 2007 due the economic crisis.

CityCenter will be directly opening positions for its properties (Aria Resort and Casino, Vdara Hotel & Spa and Crystals), in addition, Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas and The Harmon Hotel, Spa & Residences, each operated by independent companies, will also be accepting applications starting in the second quarter of 2009. Positions are available in a diversity of fields, including food and beverage, hotel operations, casino operations, retail management, entertainment, finance, human resources, facilities, security and more.

Job applicants with a commitment to service excellence have the chance not only to be part of this landmark destination, but also will receive a series of rewards and benefits, including choice of healthcare coverage options and retirement savings plans. Nevada Business Journal named MGM MIRAGE one of the "Best Companies to Work for" while Fortune Magazine honored the company by including it in its list of “Best Companies in the U.S. for Minorities."
