If the 2008
wasn’t a profitable or successful year in terms of poker and you really think
you need a fresh start, then you can forget about your luck and kick off the
2009 like you never did before with two extraordinary poker events scheduled on
December 31st and January 1st at the luxurious Bellagio
poker room.
The famous Las Vegas
hotel and casino has recently announced that it will host two $540 buy-in
tournaments featuring its normal 40 minute blinds tournament structure. But
since this is the first time the Bellagio hosts these kinds of tournaments,
players can expect a few changes, including a considerable increase in the stating
chip stack, which will go from 6000 to 15.000 in chips.
“A lot of players are very excited for the
15,000 in chips,” expressed the Bellagio’s poker tournaments supervisor, Rob
Moore.
According to Moore,
the Bellagio is expecting to attract a few hundred players for the New Year’s
Day tournament, which is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. In the other hand, the
Bellagio has no official projections of how many players would join the New
Year’s Eve tournament, which is programmed to start at 5:00 pm. Moore says that
since most players will be recovering from the Holliday festivities, or might
have other things planned for the evening, the number of players expected to
attend the event is expected to remain below the one hundred mark. Single table satellites for both events will be
running at 9:00 a.m. each day. The Bellagio will be giving away two $540 seat,
as well as $30 in cash for every 10 players that enter the $130 satellites.
