The M Resort, Spa and Casino, the new $1 billion Las Vegas hotel has officially opened its doors to thousands of guests and visitors with an exclusive ceremony and fireworks show held on Sunday, March 1st, followed by a private party for 4,000 guests before the doors were open to the general public.
The new resort is a collaboration between Anthony A. Marnell III, Chairman and CEO of the M Resort and his father, architect Tony Marnell, Chairman of Marnell Corrao Associates, the construction and development company responsible for other remarkable projects in Las Vegas, including the design and construction of several casinos located inside the Wynn Las Vegas, Treasure Island Hotel and Casino, Mirage Hotel and Casino, Caesars Palace and for the creation of the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino.
"Working with my father on the M is one of the best experiences of my life. He has worked with a number of major casino-resort properties, and I think that over the last 40 years there are things he's wanted to do and there are things that I've seen that I believe should be different in casino-resorts. He and I have had the opportunity to collaborate and the result of that is the M." said Anthony A. Marnell III.
M Resort Spa Casino is located on over 90 acres at 12300 Las Vegas Blvd. S. on the southeast corner of St. Rose Parkway and Las Vegas Boulevard. The Resort is situated about 400 ft higher than other resort-casinos on the Las Vegas Strip, providing a great view of the city from any of its 390 rooms and suites.
Guests at the M Resort have a large selection of gastronomic options to choose from, including nine restaurants, five bars, a buffet that includes beer and wine in its price, a cooking studio for television recording and an exclusive wine cellar offering one of the best wine selections in Las Vegas. The resort also has a 92,000 square feet casino and gaming area featuring 1,800 slots and video poker machines, 64 gaming tables, a 12-table poker room and a race and sports book, as well as more than 60,000 square feet dedicated for meeting and conference space, spa and fitness center and a 100,000 square foot plaza for open air events. The M Resort will include up to one million square feet of retail space plus a 14-screen digital movie entertainment complex. The resort also added a series of technological innovations ensuring guests the highest level of service. The M Resort includes wireless coverage throughout the property, allowing guests in different parts of the resort to access wireless voice and data services, mobile phones, BlackBerry devices, PDAs and laptops. In addition, customers and guests will also have access to an on-site gas station and pharmacy.
"I believe the M Resort has a lot to offer tourists and Las Vegas locals and exceptional service is at the top of the list. The M has been laid out very differently than other Strip resorts and local casinos. Every detail has been thought about over and over again. We are confident the M will raise the bar for resort-casinos and express the future of the industry." said Marnell.
