Pacific Poker launches new promotion awarding a seat at the Cannes Charity Poker Event

Online poker site 888 PacificPoker.com is announcing the introduction of a new and unique promotion that will give poker players the chance to win a seat in the highly exclusive Cannes Charity Poker Event, a private charity tournament set toke place during the world famous Cannes Film Festival.

The event is scheduled to take place on May 19^th, 2009, the high tournaments is expected to attract the best pokers and movie celebrities, including actors Ben Affleck and Matt Damon , who have already confirmed their presence at this year’s event.  The winner of the Cannes Charity Poker Event will get a luxurious beach house in Durban, South Africa.

To enter this exclusive promo, players need to get at least 1200 frequent player points on Pacific Poker tables to qualify for an entry in the online qualifier scheduled to take place on May 9^th, 2009. The points must have been accumulated within the period from March 1^st through May 5^th. For players who do not have the time to accumulate the necessary points, there will be a $160 buy-in satellite event on May 7th, in where the top three finishers will receive a seat to the online qualifier event.

All the proceeds from the Cannes Charity Poker Event will go to Not on Our Watch, a charity organization dedicated to helping children in the Darfur, Sudan, and One Voice for Freedom, a charity foundation committed to abolishing modern slavery around the world.
