World Series of Poker Horseshoe Casino Circuit event sets new attendance record

The first event of the 2009-2010 World Series of Poker Circuit season set a new record after registering a total of1,412 entries to the $345 buy-in No-Limit Hold'em tournament, which is being held at the Horseshoe Casino near Chicago.
Attendance eclipsed last year's event, which registered more than 1,180 entries. The previous record attendance for any WSOP Circuit event occurred on January 7, 2006, when 1,345 players attended circuit event held at the Tunica Grand Resort and Casino in Mississippi.
Horseshoe Casino has become one of the most popular destinations in the WSOP Circuit schedule. The 13-event tournament series at the Horseshoe Casino, which kicks off the sixth season of WSOP Circuits, is scheduled to run from October 16th through 25th. The tournament series mark the Horseshoe Casino's second year as part of the WSOP Circuit.
The Horseshoe Casino, which last year invested over $500 million in renovations, is located on the shores of Lake Michigan in Hammond, Indiana and only a few minutes from the Illinois state line. The luxury casino offers guests panoramic views of the downtown Chicago skyline, just 16 miles away.
The Horseshoe Casino holds the largest poker room in the Midwest, with 34 tables. WSOP Circuit attendance boosted the poker facility to a whopping 112 tables, most of which are located inside "The Venue," a state-of-the-art special events center attracting many of the biggest names in music and entertainment.
The three day $5,200 No Limit Hold'em Championship (Event #11) will take place on October 23rd. In addition, the Horseshoe Hammond will offer players a three $235 Super Satellites with $100 re-buys, as well as three $555 Mega satellites feeding into the main event. World Series of Poker Circuit will come to an end on October 26th with the $345 buy in No Limit Hold'em Event #13.
