Fans and poker players will be excited to learn that the annual U.S. Poker Championship Main Event will air on the popular Spike Network. The poker event which takes place at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City runs from November 2nd until November 24th.
The deal, which was signed between Trump Entertainment and Compass Entertainment LLC, allows the Spike Network to air the Main Event of the U.S. Poker Championship beginning on November 20th.
This agreement was created in hopes that the poker tournament will gain mainstream popularity similar to other major poker tournaments, such as WSOP and WPT.
“It’s hugely exciting to have the USPC back on national TV,” said Tom Gitto, poker operations director at the Taj Mahal Casino. “We knew that in order to ensure that the USPC would be more attractive to poker players we would need a solid TV deal.”
The Main Event of this poker tournament features a buy-in of $5,000 and is scheduled to run a total of four days. The poker tournament will have a total of twenty-four events over the course of the twenty-two day event.
