For the last 4 days I have been in Managua, Nicaragua. I came here to play in their monthly larger (for Nicaragua) poker tournament. This has been both a very pleasant and very perplexing trip. The way their tournament works is complex. It is a modified shoot out structure.

This is an interview that took place at the Home of Alex "Tijo" Brenes in San Jose, Costa Rica.

Q?  Alex, what is your nickname?   
 A.:  Well, I have two.  I like to play online poker, of course, and my nickname on Poker Stars is “Tijo.”  Tijo is a silly black bird, about 6 inches tall (he shows me with his hands), that likes to hop around.  It is a very popular bird here in Costa Rica.

My biggest win actually was not my win so to speak. It came about in the 2005 WSOP $1500 Limit Shoot Out.

At my starting table was John Juanda and John D'Agostino and 6 unknowns to me. After playing for about 3 hours, I was heads up with one of the guys I did not know. From there, we played for 6 hours and were the only ones left playing.

There will always be bad beat stories. Most of them sound the same if you listen close. They all start with "I had" and end with "And he made...!"

There are many things in life to be embarrassed about. Ending up in some hick town jail on a Friday afternoon is definitely right at the top of my list.

Even though the trend in poker right now is No Limit Poker thanks to the popularity on television, it is my belief that Limit Poker will make a comeback in the not so distant future.

My compatriots think I am wrong and only time will tell. Here are my Top Reasons of why I believe Limit Poker will replace No Limit Poker as the game of choice.

1. Online Poker Rooms want their players to stay longer. The longer they are in action from their first deposit, the more likely they are to continue playing and make subsequent deposits.  For a new/average player the simple fact of the matter is their money lasts longer.
   
2. Players have more FUN playing limit than no limit. Limit Poker is not nearly as stressful as No Limit where one bad decision can cost you your entire bankroll.
   
3. Limit Poker takes away the All In or No In mentality see so much in the new breed of Internet poker players. Limit does not stop aggressive poker, it just stops the big bet as pressure.
   
4. It is harder to make a long term profit in Limit Poker because the spread of talent is much closer coupled with the fact that mistakes are not nearly as costly.
   

It only makes sense to me. Maybe I am wrong. I would appreciate your comments.
