Britney Spears

Britney Spears was born in 1981 in Mississippi and raised in Louisiana. She began her career in acting on the children's show The Mickey Mouse Club with fellow singers Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera, before she became a sensation with the release of her debut album Baby One More Time. This album, released in 1999, featured the hit title track which went on to sell 500,000 copies on the first day and became the fastest selling single ever by a female artist.

In 2000, Britney released her second studio album Oops! ...I Did It Again, which debuted at number one and went on to sell over 20 million copies around the world. She also embarked on the Oops! ...I Did It Again World Tour, grossing over $40.5 million and even released a book with her mother entitled Britney Spears' Heart-to-Heart.

Britney Spears also appeared in the film Crossroads in 2002, which went on the gross more than $57 million around the world. The same year, Spears also launched her first restaurant in New York City called Nyla. Shortly thereafter, she ended her relationship with the restaurant after only a few months due to mismanagement.

Britney's most recent album, Femme Fatale, was released in 2011 and spawned the hit single "Hold It Against Me". This single debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, confirming the singer's continued commercial success. Beginning on June 17, 2011, Spears will embark on her sixth concert tour to promote the Femme Fatale album. Up to this point, there are a total of 28 dates scheduled on the North American tour.
