Celine Dion

Celine Dion is a Canadian singer, songwriter, actress and businesswoman who rose to popularity after releasing her first English-language album in 1990 entitled Unison, which featured the popular single "Where Does My Heart Beat Now". Before this album was released, the singer was well-known in her home country as a teen star singing only in French until Rene Angelil discovered her and mortgaged his home to finance her first album. Later on, Angelil went from being her manager to her lover before marrying Dion in 1994, despite their 26-year age difference.

Since Dion's English-language debut in 1990, she has released a total of 10 studio albums and sold over 200 million albums worldwide. The singer also boasts the best-selling French-language album of all time D'eux, released in 1995 and by 1999 at the height of her career, Celine Dion decided to take a break from her career to focus on her family, as well as accompany her husband during his battle with throat cancer.

In 2002, Dion returned to music with the release of her 7th English-language album A New Day is Come. Critics have called this album her most personal to date and signaled a more mature artist to many of her fans. Earlier the same year, Dion announced the three-year, 600-show A New Day...Live in Las Vegas at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. By the end of the concert extravaganza, Dion had grossed over $400 million and entertained almost 3 million fans. Her latest concert run in Vegas is called Celine, which began in early 2011, and will run for three years, seventy shows a year.
