INXS

Formed in Australia in 1977 and originally called The Farriss Brothers, INXS was fronted for twenty years by Michael Hutchence on lead vocals before his untimely death in 1997. INXS got their start with a New Wave/Ska sound before transitioning into a harder pub rock style with a funky edge that eventually made them famous around the world. INXS was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2001 and have sold over 30 million albums worldwide.

INXS rose to fame in the 80s with tracks such as "What You Need", "Listen Like Thieves" and "Need You Tonight" among other recognizable hits. The group's success continued throughout the 90s with the release of X, Welcome to Wherever You Are, Full Moon, Dirty Hearts and Elegantly which spawned hits such as "Suicide Blond", "Beautiful Girl" and "Elegantly Wasted" just to name a few. In 1997, Hutchence was found dead in a Sydney hotel, apparently by suicide, although fans and relatives consider his death accidental.

For years, INXS was fronted by a number of different singers before they appeared on the reality show Rock Star: INXS in 2004. J.D. Fortune became the new lead singer after an 11-week competition and he toured and recorded with the group until 2009. INXS is currently on a world tour which is scheduled to visit cities around the world, including stops
around Canada, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, New York and many more.
