Jimmy Buffett

Jimmy Buffett is a popular singer, songwriter, businessman, author and movie producer, who rose to fame thanks in part to his biggest hit "Margaritaville". Buffett boasts a huge fanbase, who are widely referred to as "Parrotheads". Born in Mississippi in 1946, Buffett is also the owner of the Margaritaville Cafes and Cheeseburger in Paradise chains, which can be found throughout the U.S. Aside from the restaurant chains, Buffett is also a part-owner of two minor league baseball teams-the Fort Myers Miracle and Madison Black Wolf. Buffett earns an estimated $100 million per year among his music and business ventures.

Jimmy Buffett's music career began in the 1960s, when he started playing and recording country music albums. After a visit to Key West in the 70s, Buffett changed his musical style and developed a gulf and western style similar to what he is famous for today. A frequent visitor to the Caribbean island of St. Barts, Buffett draws much of the inspiration for his music and books from the island lifestyle. In 2003, Buffett partnered with country star Alan Jackson for the song "It's Five O'clock Somewhere", which became a number one hit on the country music charts. This track eventually won the CMA Award for Vocal Event of the Year and became Buffet's first award in his thirty-year career.

Buffett is most famous for his tours with the Coral Reefer Band, which plays somewhere between 26-30 songs, with two separate encores in each concert. Since 1976, Buffett has embarked on close to 40 different tours including Cheeseburger in Paradise Tour, Outpost Tour, Fruitcakes Tour, Beach House on the Moon Tour and the most recent Welcome to Fin Land Tour in 2011. This tour will make stops in cities throughout the U.S., such as Houston, New Orleans, Nashville and Las Vegas.
