Lady Gaga

Born in 1986 as Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta in New York City, Lady Gaga burst onto the music scene with her debut album The Fame in 2008, which featured her worldwide hit "Poker Face". These days Lady Gaga has become as famous for her extravagant outfits as her musical talents.

Since her debut, Gaga has sold over fifteen million albums and more than 50 million singles worldwide. She has also won five Grammy awards, ranked on Forbes 100 Most Powerful and Influential celebrities in the world and Time Magazine's list of the most influential people in the world.

Lady Gaga draws inspiration from such artists as Madonna, Britney Spears and Michael Jackson among others and also plays piano, synthesizer and key-tar. She also considers herself as an ambassador to the gay and lesbian community, to whom she attributes much of her current success. Lady Gaga is also well-known for her humanitarian works such as with the 2010 Haiti earthquake and her fight against AIDS and HIV.

In 2009, Lady Gaga embarked on her The Monster Ball Tour in support of The Fame Monster Album, released the same year. Since its start, the tour has played a total of 201 shows and grossed over $130 million. Compared to tours by Madonna, The Monster Ball Tour has garnered positive reviews from critics as well as fans.
