Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus

Founded in 1907, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus is known as The Greatest Show on Earth and was created when the Ringling Bros. purchased the Barnum & Bailey Circus that year. It wasn't until 1919 that the circus made its debut at Madison Square Garden, as a combination of the two popular shows.

Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey enjoyed huge success throughout the 1920s and the circus' owner John Ringling quickly became one of the richest men in the world. Even during the worst economic crisis the U.S. had ever seen, the Great Depression, the company was able to survive for several more decades.

It wasn't until 1956 that Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey was forced to close, as TV and movies grew in popularity. The following year, the circus was transformed from a tent attraction to an indoor entertainment show at Irvin Field. More adjustments were made
throughout the 1960s and eventually, the show was split into the "Red Unit" and "Blue Unit", which is still in use today.

Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus continues to entertain adults and children alike with a mix of animals, clowns, trapeze artists and much more. In 2010, Brian Crawford Scott was named the newest Ringmaster performing in Fully Charged, the 141st
edition of the circus.
