Rush

The Canadian progressive rock group Rush draws heavily on themes such as science fiction, fantasy and philosphy for their songs and have influenced an entire generation of musicians throughout their career including The Smashing Pumpkins and Dream Theater. Formed in 1968, Rush is comprised of Geddy Lee on vocals, bass and keyboard, Alex Lifeson on guitar and Neil Peart on drums.

After more than 40 years, Rush has sold over 40 million albums worldwide, have 24 gold records, 14 platinum records and their sales are only topped by The Beatles and The Rolling Stones for the mos consecutive gold or platinum studio albums by a rock band.

Rush's latest work entitled Clockwork Angels is scheduled for release in 2011 and will be their 19th full-length studio album. To support this record, Rush embarked on their Time Machine Tour in 2010 and was the first time that the group featured the entire Moving Pictures album live. The 2010-2011 tour will make stops throughout North America, Canada, South America and Europe.
