Stone Temple Pilots

 

Stone Temple Pilots formed in 1992 in San Diego, CA. with Scott Weiland as the frontman, brothers Robert and Dean DeLeo on bass and guitar and Eric Kretz as the drummer. Their debut album Core was a huge hit in the 90's, certified 8X Platinum and even won a Grammy for Best Hard Rock Performance with the single "Plush". Their grunge-inspired sound fit right into the popularity of the genre during the early 90's and launched their career as one of the top-selling rock groups of all time.

STP eventually broke up in 2002 amid Weiland's ongoing drug problems and disagreements with the other members of the group and it wasn't until 2008 that the Stone Temple Pilots reunited and embarked on a 65-date North American Tour, followed by the release of the album Stone Temple Pilots in 2010.

In 2011, the Stone Temple Pilots embarked on a world tour visiting cities such as Aspen, Biloxi, Las Vegas, Manila, Melbourne and Detroit.
