At 108 floors, just going to the top of the Stratosphere us a thrill in itself, but, when you ride the Big Shot... Its like you're throwing yourself off the 108 floors (Yes I am aware there is another thriller at the Strat called the Sky Jump) but, instead of going directly down its like being thrown into outter space, Yes I am now an astronaut, well at least i felt that way every 5 seconds as it throws u into the air and shoots u straight back down... It is a MUST DO! Have some liquid courage before you go up, itll help calm your nerves ;)

At over 1000 feet in the air, the Stratosphere claims that it is the world's tallest thrill ride. The place is a trip, even the elevator is a trip... its fast... Fast! So once you get up there, you start considering the idea if you should get on it or not... trust me on it! The ride is tricked out version of Space Shot... once you get buckled up, up you go and hang up there for a couple of seconds (the best part)! Like Marilyn says.... totally worth the money!

As far as thrill rides go, the Big Shot, atop the Stratosphere...is one of the best attractions in Las Vegas. However, once you've done it once, the thrill becomes less and less each time you do it.

I do NOT recommend this ride if you have a fear of heigths. That is half the battle! As a person totally okay with heigths, this ride put a little bit of the fear into me.

After strapping you, and 3 friends into one of the 4 sides of the ride, much like any coaster, the tension builds as you have no idea what's coming.

Then WHOOOOOOSH! Up you go, as fast as can be! Now, since you cannot see the apparatus that you are strapped into, the only thing you see, is the city of Las Vegas getting futher and further away, as you are shot up into the air, aimlessly, it seems.

Just when you think you're going to shoot out into space with your stomach in your throat, you hit the top, and are dropped, as are your guts, freefall style. You will be shot up at a lower speed to a shorter heigth, and dropped, and so on until the momentum is gone.

Then released.

The first time you ride this baby, is always the most memorable.

Totally worth the money, the view, and the experience. Why not try it at night, as well, for a different experience!?
