Ethel M Chocolate Factoryin Las Vegas

In 1981, Forrest Mars Sr, "retired" to Henderson, Nevada and created Ethel M Chocolates to honor his mother by creating a line of gourmet chocolates that reminded him of how he learned about quality chocolate making. Ethel’s Chocolate represents a proud heritage of chocolate making that started when our founder, Forrest Mars Sr., watched his mother create gourmet chocolates in their home during the early nineteen-hundreds in Tacoma, Washington.

The factory is located at One Sunset Way in Henderson, NV.

Botanical Cactus Garden

Based on the English landscape model of naturalistic design, the Botanical Cactus Garden feature four acres of drought-tolerant ornamentals, cacti, and other succulents. With a landscape base of 15,000 cubic yards of sandy fill and a special planting soil, the beds were raised and rookeries constructed using 400 tons of rock, thereby providing the best possible viewing experience for visitors.

If you are a fan of chocolate, if you like the smell of chocolate, if you are curious about how chocolates are made, this is an attraction for you! If you visit Ethel M on the days when the factory is running, you get to see the actual process of making chocolates. We have been there a couple of times -- once when the factory was running, and another time when we watched videos on the chocolate making process (the factory was not running). At the end of the tour you are offered a free sample. You then get to shop for chocolate! Imagine that! :-) Ethel M Chocolates are very delicious and this tour is a nice break from the strip!
