Fremont Street Experience in Las Vegas

Fremont Street ExperienceThe street that started it all in the heart of downtown where vintage Vegas comes to life. When visiting Vegas, you have to go Downtown, hopefully during the night to check the show out... A must, plus its a Free Show to Enjoy.

The attraction is a barrel vault canopy, 90 ft (27 m) high at the peak and four blocks, or approximately 1,500 ft (460 m), in length. That's a long screen for a free show. All the lights go out on the stree, including the casino outside lights so that the show can be enjoyed at its best

Take the time to see it at night when the light shows steals the night and in the day when the feel of old Vegas still looms. A Las Vegas attraction not to be missed. A major tourist attraction for downtown Las Vegas and location to so many other attractions including a New Years Eve spectacular event.

This is an awe-inspiring attraction! The sound system is outstanding and the light show is amazing! It is fun to step out of a casino into the covered street, look up, and see this amazing show! It is also cool to see the crowd gather under the big awning and everyone gets quiet when the show starts! We always make a point to visit the Freemont Street Experience every time we are in Vegas! (The downtown casinos are fun also!)

Freemont street ! Wow! what can I say but wow! A nice stroll down this street is a cool experience
With all the lights an arch of lights that seem to go on forever that change constantly while playing all
kinds of music from new to oldies. At the same time we watched people zip lone along the arch of lights
which was so awesome to watch it looked Like so much fun ! The older casinos were nice and the drinks
Were good and everyone seemed so happy it was a very good experience ! Don't miss it ! It's worth the visit !

the best free entertainment in vegas. over-head light shows with great variety of music every hour. In the heart of downtown surrounded by casinos. I love it, after the shows just hop back inside one of the casinos and come back out in an hour to catch the next light show! the lights of the casinos downtown are the highlight of any vegas trip!

I hate to be redundant but this really is a must see. I had been to Vegas twice before heading down to Fremont on my third trip. Amazing! We took the bus (which I would recommend over a cab) and when the bus pulled up the overhead light show was not going. It was as if they were waiting for us because as soon as we stepped off the bus and onto Fremont Street the ceiling lit up and the most amazing light and sound show began.

I looked down Freemont to check things out and was in awe that everyone had stopped the party and was watching the overhead screen. It was the coolest experience! We are sure to go to Fremont Street every time we visit Vegas. The show is always different and the good times always roll. It's a party you won't want to miss. :)

If you are going to Vegas you have to make the Fremont light show a must see!! We went to Vegas in 2007 and knew nothing about this amazing show. We ended up in the Fremont district looking for the Harley Davidson shop around noon and ended up staying all night. It is absolutely awe inspiring and best of all it is free. When we go back to Vegas that will be the first place we visit. Plenty to do and lots of fair priced gift shops too!!!

People who do not make the easy trip from the strip to Downtown are really missing out. The Fremont Experience light show is second only to the Bellagio Fountains on my list of top Vegas attractions. Not only are the shows cool, but it's fun to watch thousands of people stopped dead in their tracks with their heads turned toward the sky. A great spot from which to watch one of the shows is the Vue Bar balconey at the Fitz where the view provides an awesome view of the show, the crowd below and the people flying by on the zip lines. There are also three stages set up along the Experience for various nightly concerts and entertainment and you always see various street perfomers too. My favorite street performance was the big, muscular dude who somehow squeezed himself into a very small glass box. Still scratching my head on that one.

Downtown is where to go to enjoy classic Vegas neon lights, lower table limits, and dozens of restaurants all within a short, easy walking distance.

Cool Downtown spots:
Gold Spike $3 BJ, 3:2
El Cortez $3 BJ, 3:2
Fitzgerald's $2 BJ
Main Street Station Craps w/ 100x free odds and a section of the Berlin Wall
Du-Par's Restaurant at Golden Gate
Claw-machine arcade game with live lobsters at Vegas Club
Chart House aquarium bar at Golden Nugget
Hugo's Cellar at Four Queens
World's largest gold nugget at Golden Nugget
The Ranch Steakhouse at the top of Binion's tower
The swimming pool shark tank at Golden Nugget

VivaVision (the giant 4 block screen) is a must see thing in Las Vegas!!!! There are different displays, and special holiday displays. Not only beautiful artwork, touching short stories, but also accompanied by great music!

While you are down on Fremont St, check out the many casinos there. The Golden gate opened in the early 1900's and have an awesome Shrimp Cocktail. Pay the extra dollar and get the Jumbo Shrimp....

There are great novelty stores, and a few of the casinos hand out beads to passerbys.

All in all, a great way to spend an evening in Downtown.

Do be careful in Downtown, watch for pickpockets and beggars.

Walking Fremont Street is a great, free attraction! A short ride from the Strip, and easy to walk the whole block.

The overhear light show is always changing! New music, new pictures! Always fun! Although, my neck hurt a little bit from looking upward. People dancing, bands playing, slot machines jingling!

Also, check out the deep fried Oreo's at Mermaids!

But be sure to secure your wallets and purses, just in case! Fremont Street is near a not-so-nice area of town.

Have fun!
