Older casino, but good play for your money. Everytime I have been there they have FREE pulls for prizes'
Rooms are good. Have not had a bad room yet.
The Fab Four show was good. They had country bands playing when the rodeo was going on.
Food is decent. The small store and coffee shop is very expensive.

The Sahara is fine if you just want a cheap place to stay on The Strip. However if you want great gaming you can certainly find it at the newer casinos.

The Sahara is just old. There's no really no better way to describe it. The glory days of the Sahara were when the Rat Pack roamed Vegas. The rooms themselves are ok, but the beds and linens were lower quality and the wall paper was peeling off.

The gaming floor itself was ok but really quite small. Since there were so few players they never had all the table games running and often even the most popular games like blackjack only had 3-4 tables going at once.

The buffet was ok if not hard to find.

The pool at the Sahara was terrible. The parking structure for the casino blocked out the sun so you'd find yourself moving deck chairs constantly to find sun.

I was there not too long ago, and I was playing in the poker tournament. The poker room itself is very spacious and clean. However, you need to really pay attention when you are playing poker. Sometimes there is too much distraction for the dealer to be the only one paying attention and may make a grave mistake and say a player is out when they really weren't. Then, when something like that happens, it's like pulling teeth to get them to listen to you. The manager always has to "back the dealer" but when someone is confident enough in their own playing ability and know they are supposed to still be in, they should at least listen to the player. It took about 20 minutes of argument and debate for them to finally pay attention to what was going on. Needless to say, they apologized profusely and tried to make it right, but the damage was done!

I will probably play again at their poker tournament, but I will pay attention a lot more closely this time! On a lighter note, the service by the waitstaff was very polite and friendly. Got my drinks very promptly and in a tasteful manner! The atmosphere was very relaxed and staff was very professional, courteous and helpful.
