Las Vegas shows will never be the same after Celine Dion’s last presentation, organizers and producers needed a long time to come with a successor worthy to step on the same stage that Celine used to know as home for almost four years. Las Vegas needed a real star on stage, some one who really knows how to match with the city’s glamour and magnificence, some one like the incomparable Bette Midler.
The diva has signed a two-year deal as the new resident artist at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Midler will succeed Grammy winner Celine Dion, a star that Las Vegas will never forget. The show is ready to begin next Feb. 20, 2008. Her new show will open with a large list of surprises, including her incomparable humor, the best song catalogue in American music and her fabulous 'Kiss My Brass' section" will play five nights a week at 7:30 PM. Dark nights are Mondays and Thursdays.
In previus media declarations, the award-winning Midler said, "Get ready Vegas 'cause here I come! Caesars Palace will never be the same and to all those critics who have accused me of being 'tacky,' 'too much' and 'over the top' I say, you ain't seen nuthin' yet!" Caesars Palace president Gary Selesner added, "Caesars Palace has set the standard for entertainment in Las Vegas by continually booking the biggest and best acts the city has ever seen including Celine Dion and Elton John. Adding the inimitable Bette Midler to The Colosseum's family of entertainers adds yet another jewel to our crown."
Bette Midler made her Broadway debut as Tzeitel in the world famous Broadway production of Fiddler on the Roof. She returned to the Great White Way to perform several concerts, including: Bette Midler, Bette Midler's Clams on the Half Shell Revue and Bette! Divine Madness. As of now, the Coloseum will now be Bette Midler’s new home for the next two years, putting on her own special touch to the Caesars Palace show menu. The Bette Midler Las Vegas show will be running 5 nights a week for the next 2 years, at least, and is expected to draw thousands of guests from Caesar's Palace and many other hotels along the Las Vegas Strip.
